Highlight of the day was as we were leaving two cops entered the shop to speak to the couple of staff left behind to look after the place. With the lights instore now off and most of the protesters out of the way a couple of old women walk up to the locked door, saw the sign “Closed until tax is paid,” looked at cops apparently securing the tax dodgers and said shocked “They’ve been done for not paying their taxes!” Class.

It really is appalling that the wealthy are able to legally avoid paying any tax, and the most vulnerable of society, the disabled, chronically ill and frail elderly are being denied enough benefits to scrape by on.

There would be no need for any benefit cuts if the government would stop tax avoidance.

A great days work yesterday by all!

By far the most interesting coverage I’ve spotted (beside my picture in the paper) was over on WiredVC, a Venture Capital website. They described the “probably prophetic development of direct action against perceived corporate greed and irresponsibility” and finished with a stark warning:

“Many of those protestors will also be clutching Vodafone mobiles – but maybe not for much longer. As the corporate images of banks and other “fat cat” companies become increasingly tarnished – this is a PR issue that all corporates should immediately open their eyes to.

Scenes like this are not at all good for anybody’s business image”

If this was on some lefty website it would be easier to dismiss but the fact that these people are starting to realise we can and will fuck with them shows we are doing something right.

    Direct Action Gets the Goods!
